Adult Holiday Party highlights: residents and their families celebrate with staff and honorees
January 10, 2018
Our Adult Services Annual Holiday Party was held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Hyannis on December 21st, and everything from the food to the special honors was perfect. It was an opportunity for the families of our individuals to come and celebrate the holiday season with staff. All families and guardians were invited, and 120 attended the event. The buffet dinner was delicious (and served by Latham supervisors), and dancing followed with music by the great Mark Sullivan. Residential Manager and event organizer Patricia Morgan noted, “This is a great event where friends from all parts of the Adult Program can come together and celebrate. It’s something that is looked forward to and talked about by our individuals all year long! It’s always a welcomed opportunity for families to meet all of the supervisors and administration; families get to put faces with names, and they also have a chance to learn about the different aspects of the adult program.”
In addition to recognizing the brother of adult resident Justin C, Latham’s Shared Living providers were honored for their dedication to making a home for several of our adult individuals. Greg Powers, Manager of Supported Community Living, acknowledged Latham’s Shared Living providers for making a real difference in the lives of adults with disabilities. “I’d like to recognize our providers for their exceptional caring and support – they are achieving the program’s goals of developing long-lasting, safe and happy relationships that allow our individuals to build their daily living skills, feel a sense of belonging, and participate fully in their chosen community activities.”
The event was the perfect way to end a year of positive outcomes for our entire Adult Services program.
